EXPLAINER: Vibecamp Venue - Cabins & Event Spaces
This post is meant to help you:
- scope out which cabin to pick for your group
- get an idea of which places might be good to camp at
- figure out where to host your event
- or just to familiarize yourself with the site layout!
The property itself is ~200 acres, but most of that is forest. The structures are clustered in one area and easily traversable by walking in a loop. Have fun, explore, and let us know what we can do to improve this guide. Site address: 2564 Silver Rd, Darlington MD 21034.
NOTE: this page is under construction! We will add photos of the areas we're missing after this next event. If you have edits/tips/suggestions, please send them to brooke@vibe.camp.
Site Map
An attendee is working on building out a robust (& ideally prettier) map with things like water faucet placement included. Check back soon!
That map breaks the property into four color-coded sections. We’ll reference these section numbers throughout the page so you can flip back here for spatial context any time. To view those pins in google maps (placed on a walk through in 2023), click here. We also have a folder filled with a bunch more photos from 2023 that you can check out here (heads up: many of the photos were taken in winter, making the site look much more dreary than it does during the summer when Vibecamp takes place!)
If you're curious why there aren't many photos with people in them, [check back soon for a link to our media/privacy policy]

CAMPING ETC
You're welcome to set up your tent anywhere on the site, with the exception of the White House lawn, the parking lot and the Activity Field. RVs may park in the paved lot in front of the Big Top, but there are no hookups. If you're sleeping in your car, we recommend parking along the tree line in the back of the lot.
Activity Spaces
This section will be built out over time - it's meant to help attendees pick out locations for their activities! We're missing pictures from some of the areas, but tried to align with the options that appear in my.vibe.camp. Check out this post for some tips on hosting activities at Vibecamp:
Indoor Locations
Barn Theater
Great indoor space for live music/theater productions, smaller dance parties, and workshops/talks. There is seating along the walls and a stage.
The Big Top
Big gym space, often unused. It gets pretty hot during the day, but has a big stage in it. It has 3 side rooms with carpet/wood floors and good acoustics for smaller workshops or jam sessions.
Pavilion
Great floor for dance classes! At night, the pavilion is the main dance/music area.
Teahouse
Cozy indoor space decorated and operated by a group of attendees. Every year they provide tea and a quiet space to chat, along with some mental health services. It's located in the dining hall complex, near the swimming pool.
Meeting Room
Small indoor space on the upper level of the dining hall complex, above the pool.
Indoor Eatery & Tablespace
Tables and cushy benches - old restaurant vibe. Great for board games, small group discussions etc.
Outdoor Eatery & Tablespace
Tables under a covered area outside of the dining hall. Usually used during meal times, but open any time. We put out breakfast snacks there, as well as communal art supplies.
Side Room 1
The first of three side rooms to the right when you first walk into the Big Top. 12 person occupancy.
Side Room 2
The second of three side rooms to the right when you first walk into the Big Top. 12 person occupancy.
Side Room 3
The third of three side rooms to the right when you first walk into the Big Top. 12 person occupancy.
Dining Hall
Opens twice a day, for brunch and dinner. Come back soon to view meal times - and don't schedule events here! Use other spaces in the complex, such as the indoor/outdoor eateries or the meeting room.
Outdoor Locations
Amphitheater
Open, outdoor stage with bench seating, located SE of the pool/dining hall complex. This is where opening and closing ceremonies are held, weather permitting.
Activity Field
Big grassy field! Located behind the horseshoe cabins.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is open 24/7 for adults. We can only allow minors to swim when we have a lifeguard on duty - let us know if you're trained and would like to volunteer some time so the little ones can swim! BE ADVISED: nudity is allowed at the pool from 12am - 4am each night.
Rainbow Swings
Another event that hosts at Ramblewood built these! Aren't they cool? If you'd like to build something like this during Vibecamp, let us know!
Pond Fire Pit
Fire pit with seating around it. Great for bonfires at night (you MUST practice good fire safety!!) and small group workshops during the day.
Ground Truth
An attendee project that just keeps getting better every year! Coffee during the day, cocktails at night.
Fire Pit near Cabin U
Fire pit! Great for jam sessions or telling ghost stories at night 👻
Basketball Court
Paved lot right next to the barn theater.
Paved Lot
Outdoor Features & Places to Explore
- Pond
The site asks us to swim in the pool, NOT the pond — please be respectful! There is actually a snapping turtle living in the pond that the site is afraid will bite someone. - Creek crossing
Ropes course playgroundCozy Forest Space
"A popup attendee-decorated chill space out in the forest. Fingers crossed that its going to be a permanent installation, actual location TBD. Follow the glowing path and look up in the trees!""- Secret lookout #2
- Mysterious contraption
- Abandoned machinery
Practical Locations
The White House
Built in the 1800s, this building was one of the last stops on the underground railroad and still boasts the escape tunnel in the basement. During Vibecamp, this is the main staff headquarters - don't be afraid to come ask for help here if you need something! The building has been featured on Ghost Hunters but surely isn't actually haunted,,,
Registration Gazebo
Located across from the White House, in the front corner of the parking lot. Here's where you come when you arrive on Thursday to check in for the event and grab your badge, bedding, and room assignments (when relevant). After Thursday check in will move to near the medics + pool area.
- Main parking lot
Big grassy field on the right when you pull up. Park your cars, hovercraft, and helicopters here. Reach out for spacecraft clearance. - Overflow parking
- Public bathroom & coin-op laundry
No showers - Rented storage space
We're buying a shipping container! Info about attendee storage options coming soon.
We’ll be expanding this guide over time. Send feedback and edit suggestions to brooke@vibe.camp. Thanks for your patience!
